My name is Raffe Lazarian, and I’m a 26 year old freelance photographer in Los Angeles, CA.

“If your pictures aren’t good enough, you’re not close enough.” – Robert Capa

“Ever find yourself spending too much time solving the world’s problems? No? Me either. But that’s not the point. The point is this: traffic in L.A. sucks, Homer Simpson is a role model, and photography by Raffe Lazarian is second to none. His proficiency behind the lens is Mos Def with a microphone and a funky beat. Now, I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking, “this guy Raffe probably started in a darkroom before moving on to shoot sporting events, athletes, actresses and entertainers etc. Now he’s concentrating on portraiture.” Guess what? You’re right, but you left out the part about Raffe working on a cocktail recipe and reference book with two of the nation’s best mixologists.

I mean, c’mon. Does it really matter that he graduated from UT-Knoxville instead and obtained a degree in Photo-Journalism?  Do you care that Raffe was a staff photographer and photo editor for the Daily Beacon newspaper, The Onion, Knoxville Magazine and Metro Pulse (just to name a few)?  Do you want to know that he has a “relaxed” shooting style, and enjoys collaborating with other artists on photo shoots? No. All that matters is he knows angles and lighting like Ron Artest knows his liquor and press conferences. And if you need professional photography work done, on or off set, down low on the streets, up in the hills, in a public setting or a private place, Raffe Lazarian is the man for the job.”
